Las Parrandas de Remedios: Cuba’s Fiery Fireworks Festival

Bienvenidos a Remedios, La Cuna de las Parrandas.
I found out about the Las Parrandas Festival a few years ago when I had my first glimpse of Cayo Santa Maria in Villa Clara province. Despite wanting to see the festivities for the longest time, I could never find the time to visit as I usually spend my Christmas vacation outside of Cuba.   2. No, man. I'll be out of Cuba by December this year (off to Mexico). A lot Americans are traveling to Cuba these days. You should have a look yourself.

  3. I felt like I had been there after reading your blog. Maybe the drinking was meant for the people not to notice they were being burned :) But the fireworks must be fabulous and the carrozas must be very beautiful and colorful.

    By the way, how was the relationship of the State and the Church in Cuba? Were they able to co-exist without having conflict even their beliefs were contradictory?
